The fourth annual golf match between Old Hymerians and Old Pocklingtonians took place on a beautiful afternoon at the superb Ganton GC on Wednesday 14th August 2024. Playing for the Friendship Trophy, each team comprised of 4 pairs, with a "betterball" format. The OP team was David Harrison (70-77) & Trevor Loten (70-80), Tim Murden (83-90) & Ed Heppel (88-99), Larry Lawson (70-77) & Mark Addison (acting captain, 69-76), and Richard Brown (82-87) & Denton Guest (69-74). All but one match was remarkably close, going down to the 18th hole, but (sadly from an OP perspective) only Lawson & Addison came away with a half-point, as the OH team triumphed 3.5-0.5 to win the trophy outright following last year's draw.
Thank you to everyone who took part.
