On Sunday 23 June, as part of the OP Summer Reunion event, nine pairs took part in the annual mixed doubles tournament for the Edmund-Loten Inspire tennis trophy. Among them were OPs, staff, a current parent, a former parent, and four pairs of current pupils, although it was agreed that one male pair and one female pair of school pupils could participate, despite it being a mixed doubles format. The weather conditions could not have been better after the strong winds of last year. Indeed, it was a beautiful summer's afternoon and there was some good tennis played throughout.
In group A, Rachel Danby (Current staff) & Edward Dare (11-18) finished runners-up behind Bryony Underwood (10-18) & Trevor Loten (70-80), whilst group B was really tight, with sisters Charley & Molly Dear finishing top, ahead of Emma (10-19) & James Sweeting (81-88) by virtue of their head-to-head result, with Christel Wake (Former parent) & Patrick Dare (Current staff) narrowly behind.
In the semi-finals, Charley & Molly defeated Rachel & Edward 6-1, whilst Bryony & Trevor defeated Emma & James by the same margin. In the final, experience triumphed over youth as Bryony & Trevor recorded a 6-1 victory against the talented sisters, who are already playing a leading role in Pocklington School tennis.

Bryony Underwood (10-18) & Trevor Loten (70-80), Emma Sweeting (10-19) & James Sweeting (81-88), Rachel Danby (Staff) & Edward Dare (11-18), Christel Wake (Former Parent) & Patrick Dare (Staff), Amy Blight & Pacôme Barrau, Sara Di Stasio & Jack Scanlon, Charley Dear & Molly Dear, Max Toomey & Isaac Gill, Linsey MacLeod (Current Parent) & Cameron MacLeod.
