This year’s annual Pocklington v Hymers 1st XV rugby and 1st XI ladies’ hockey matches will take place at Pocklington on Saturday 19 October 2024 when teams from both schools will play for the President’s Rugby Cup and the President’s Hockey Cup. Originally introduced in 2021 as a rugby event, the schools were keen to extend it to include 1st XI hockey so for the first time this year, both sports will be involved.

With everything to play for, all teams will be keen to claim the Cup in their respective matches in what is always an entertaining and highly competitive local derby fixture between the two schools.

To help support the players, we would like to invite OPs to come back to Pocklington School to watch the matches. There will also be the opportunity to stay for lunch hosted by the Headmaster and the OP President who will be joined by current and former sports staff and teachers. The OP President will present the trophies to the winning sides and after lunch there will be the opportunity for an optional School tour for any OPs who would like one.

Lunch is to be booked in advance using the 'book now' button above. The cost is £20.00 per person to include bacon buttie on arrival, welcome drink followed by a 2-course lunch with wine.

As before, tables can be organised for OP year groups, sports teams and families so you are seated together making it a great occasion for a reunion or that long-overdue catch-up you promised…!
